Business ownership is an act of stewardship.

The final responsibility of a great steward is finding the right next one—someone prepared to carry the business, its people, and its relationships forward.

Right Buyer. Right Price. Right Time.

High-trust M&A

Some businesses cannot be handed to just anyone.

RightExit advises owners through high-trust transactions: founder-led and family-owned business successions, and mergers and acquisitions involving professional-service businesses where client relationships, reputation, and people are inseparable from enterprise value.

The right exit is not defined by one variable. It brings together the right buyer, the right price and terms, and the right timing—with financing certainty and a real ability to close. It also respects what the owner has built and the responsibilities that come with taking it forward.

Trust the Process

A disciplined process makes the experience count.

We have experience earned through completed transactions. But we do not ask an owner to rely on experience alone. RightExit puts a structured middle-market M&A process front and center, bringing that discipline to Main Street and lower-middle-market business owners who want to exit well.

  1. 01

    Prepare

Clarify the owner's objectives, organize the financial story, and identify issues before buyers do.

  2. 02

    Position

Present the business around its strengths, value drivers, transferability, and future opportunity.

  3. 03

    Market

Conduct confidential outreach to a deliberately chosen field of qualified prospective buyers.

  4. 04

    Compete

Create a structured process that gives qualified buyers a fair opportunity to put forward their best offer.

  5. 05

    Negotiate

Evaluate price, terms, financing certainty, fit, transition expectations, and the ability to close.

  6. 06

    Close

Coordinate diligence and documentation while protecting momentum, confidentiality, and negotiating leverage.

  7. 07

    Transition

Help the owner and buyer begin the handoff with shared expectations for people, clients, and continuity.

Accounting, advisory, and founder-led businesses

Daniel Talbott is the Founder of RightExit and an Exit Advisor specializing in accounting and advisory businesses. Before founding RightExit, Daniel worked inside the accounting industry as an advisor, owner, and member of the founding teams of venture-backed accounting companies. That experience gave him firsthand insight into what makes an accounting business valuable, scalable, and ultimately transferable.

Today, Daniel works with owners of accounting, tax, bookkeeping, advisory, and other founder-led businesses to understand what their company is worth, identify opportunities to increase its value, evaluate their exit options, and execute a competitive sale process when the time is right.

As a Certified Business Intermediary (CBI), Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA), and Enrolled Agent (EA), Daniel combines financial expertise with practical transaction experience to help owners prepare for one of the most important decisions of their careers.

Begin confidentially

The right transition starts before the business goes to market.

Whether succession is close or still years away, a conversation can help clarify what matters, what the business may need, and what a well-run process should look like.
